Retreat: Listening for Life-giving Words

“Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!

…Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
    and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
    listen, that you may live.” Isaiah 55:1-3

Jesus invites us to come and listen to his nurturing words of life. In our always connected world, there are plenty of words, but sometimes, in the deluge of news, podcasts, emails, texts, social media, and actual conversation, it can be hard to discern those words which are truly life-giving or which fill us with delight. It takes time as well as practice to learn to listen well, and if we don’t intentionally set aside time for listening, we may miss some of the delight and joy Jesus offers us.

Join us for a morning of retreat, rest, and renewal as we take time to open our eyes, ears, and hearts to God’s presence with us and in his world. This retreat is an opportunity to slow down and listen to God, to one another, and to our own souls through Scripture, silence, prayer, and sharing with each other.
