A Day of Delight and Rest

Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” Mark 6:31

“If you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the Lord…” Isaiah 58:13-14

Jesus invites us to step aside from our work and take a break with him. In our always connected world, it seems there’s always more work to do, and if we put off rest until the work is done, we may never really rest. And, if we don’t really rest, we may miss some of the delight and joy Jesus offers us. So, you’re invited to set your regular responsibilities aside to join with others for a few hours of rest, renewal, reflection, and joy. 

This retreat is an opportunity to slow down and renew our focus on God through Scripture, silence, and prayer. We will have time for quiet reflection on our own and also have times to encourage one another with the thoughts, insights, and questions that arise from our silent reflection, reading, or prayer.
